Shelly Burmeister Mowery

Shelly Burmeister Mowery was an active promoter of professional rodeo as the first “Miss Coors Rodeo,” where she brought significant attention to equal pay for women’s barrel racing in the major rodeos. A former rodeo consultant, rodeo queen and actress, Shelly has been recognized by her fans and all the major TV networks as one of the top equine sports broadcasters for pro rodeos and national cutting horse events. Since being inducted into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in 1990, Shelly has been inducted into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2015 and the National Cutting Horse Members Hall of Fame in 2021. In 2023, Shelly received the Julie Sutton Appreciation Award from the Wrangler Bullfighters Hall of Fame.
