Museum Tour
The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, established in 1975 in Hereford, Texas, is the only institution in the world dedicated to preserving and teaching the history of the American cowgirl. In June, 2002, the Museum opened a new building in Fort Worth, Texas. For many, a visit to the museum is the first time they encounter the stories and voices of women (both historic and contemporary) who have contributed to the history and culture of the American West.
The museum includes interactive exhibit galleries that feature artifacts and photographs of the permanent collection, a traveling exhibit gallery, three theaters, an expanded research library, a retail store and a grand rotunda where visitors begin to learn about the spirit of the cowgirl.
