Called one of the premier stuntwomen in Hollywood history, Polly began life as the daughter of Oregon ranchers and rodeo riders, beginning trick riding at 14 and relay racing at 18. Eventually deciding to try her hand at stunt work in the movie industry. Polly worked on a variety of films, including The Perils of Pauline (1947), and the classic, True Grit (1969). Between films, she toured France with a Wild West show and sailed the Pacific in her own sail boat for three years.
